The Xiaolin Dragon Of Ice
Wayne was born on December 3rd in Calgary General Hospital to Robert and Lillian Dionne. His dad is currently a member of the Calgary Flames of the NHL and his mom Lillian was an Olympic Silver Medalist for the 1992 Canadian Swimming Team and is now a coach for the Provincial Swim Team in Alberta.
Wayne was born into athletics since youth. Playing every sport imaginable, but his true calling was hockey. He played for the Red Deer Stags, a pee-wee team part of the Alberta Youth Hockey League (AYHL). Unlike his father who was/is a goal scoring machine, Wayne focused on passing and defense to differentiate himself from his old man. Scoring 8 goals and 30 assists in 35 league games Wayne led the Stags to the Provincial semifinals. He and captain Marcel O'Connor were 1st team All Stars for the AYHL. But as much as he loves the sport and wanting to excel in it, he usually let the spotlight be on his team and not on himself.
After failing to make the Canadian National Junior Team, Wayne became more relaxed from the pressures of being compared to his dad. He simply wanted to play Hockey just for the enjoyment of the game and not make it a profession. So he elected to continue to play in the AYHL for the Stags with his longtime friends up until he received a call to the Xiaolin Temple.
He was sent to China to work with the monks through a letter from Master Fung. As Dojo flew around to see who could be added to the group of monks at the temple, he spotted Wayne in Calgary during an altercation between Wayne and two other kids when the two kids stole Wayne's hockey bag after a practice. Wayne was/is notorious for his horrible temper when challenged, he disposed of his opponents so efficiently that Dojo had to give him the invitation. His skills were exemplified through watching his next door neighbor, pro wrestling legend Bret "The Hitman" Hart when he wrestled in the 80's and 90's. Bret has long retired from wrestling but is Wayne's go to guy whenever he needs advice when his parents are out of town.
He has a fighting style that is highly similar to Bret, very technical, no nonsense, scientific wrestling with an arsenal of submission holds at his disposal. He also learned from his late uncle Stu who served in the RCMP (Mounties) but died on duty when Wayne was 14. If anyone said anything about his uncle or the RCMP, Wayne gets emotional how much he misses him. He does feel comfort though whenever he watches Hockey Night In Canada with the monks every saturday night during the season, as what he did with Stu to see his dad play.
As stated earlier, his temper sometimes gets the best of him in not just Hockey, but in combat as well. He gets so intense that he wipes out anything in his way, even if it is his own team.
These problems are at least trying to be resolved as the monks would make efforts to calm him down and relax his nerves if he gets too into whatever they're encountering. The main things that set him off more than anything is if, anyone ever insults his country, or pokes fun at his, well, anger issues.
He holds himself to very high standards, literally sometimes a perfectionist because of the high expectations created by his parents' success in the sports world. It still bothers him to this day knowing no matter what he accomplishes he never feels proud of himself.
He is very proud however of his home country of Canada and is patriotic of his home wearing Team Canada hockey apparel. Even so much as to have stitched a Canadian Maple Leaf onto his uniform pants. Wayne also keeps himself in elite physical condition as what his dad did at his age through weight training and intense cardio sessions. A very strict man of nutrition who keeps his fit physique in line. He always looks up more creative ways to work his body in every way, shape, or form.
After settling into the temple, Master Fung then gave Wayne a special tea blend that helps relax his mind and the stress he endures. Since he suffers from excessive headaches because of the stress built up inside him. On occasion his fellow monk Kimiko would give him a neck massage to help him relax. Kimiko usually receives some guff from Raimundo saying that she's madly in love with him for which she denies to Rai. But the feelings are rather mystified between the two as if their either very good friends or are they developing something more?
he hopes to one day find peace within himself and be more relaxed and at ease about life.
